Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) has taken the initiative to speed up the state government’s anti-corona vaccination campaign and ensure that citizens get vaccinated safely as soon as possible. HPCL donated an air-conditioned vaccine van to the state government’s health department. It will help to transport Covid vaccines across the state speedly. This van with a capacity of 32 cubic meters can carry 30 lac doses of vaccines at a time.This is the first such initiative in the state. This van will supply vaccines especially in Marathwada and Vidarbha, informed by Dr. Pankaj Sharma, General Manager (Public Information) of HPCL Pune.
HPCL handed over this air-conditioned vaccine van to the state government’s health department at the health directorate, Pune station. Milind More, Deputy Director (Transport), of Public Health Department, Dr Dilip Patil, State Vaccination officer and Deputy Director of Public Health Department, Dr. Sachin Desai, State Vaccination officer UNICEF Vaccination Advisor Satish Doiphode, HPMDI Principal Praveen Kumar, HPCL Pune Senior Regional Sales Manager Mangesh Dongre, HR Assistant Manager Ankur Parey, Sheila Ravi Kumar were present. The event was organized in strict compliance with the rules of the corona.
Praveen Kumar said, “The cost of this air-conditioner van is around Rs 40 lakh. The central government is implementing various initiatives to overcome Corona. Accordingly, many organisations are contributing by implementing various activities. Accordingly, the air-conditioned vaccine van from HPCL visited the health department of the state government. Some more states will be given such vans. We are working hard to make the country healthy.”
Dr. Pankaj Sharma said, “The project has been running since December. Action was taken to make these air-conditioned vans available for vaccination by working on the battlefield. It will go a long way in making vaccines available to citizens faster. Putting aside the misconceptions about vaccination, everyone should get vaccinated. It will help the country get out of the Corona crisis. The media should take the lead in this work.”Milind More also expressed his gratitude and his views. Ankur Parey coordinated the event and also gave a vote of thanks.
Public Health Dept. appreciated HPCL initiativeDr. Dilip Patil said, “It is important to maintain the cold chain between vaccine suppliers and beneficiaries. This initiative of HPCL will give impetus to the vaccination drive. HPCL’s social responsibility is certainly commendable. Since the vaccine will be available to all people from April 1, a large number of vaccines will have to be transported. In this case, the vaccine van will be useful.
