One of the most popular hobbies in the history of humankind has been collecting, restoring, organising, and displaying various objects that catch their fancy. On the next episode of ‘OMG! Yeh Mera India’, Season 6, airing every Monday and Tuesday at 8 PM, meet 53-year old, Pune-resident, Vineet Kenjale who owns India’s most extensive collection of vintage two-wheelers. Collecting since 1988, he is the proud owner of 400 such vintage vehicles.
The sixth season of HistoryTV18’s popular pan-Indian series, ‘OMG! Yeh Mera India’ showcases inspirational stories from all corners of the country. One among these, featured in the episode airing next Monday, will be of particular interest to bike and scooter aficionados. Vineet Kenjale’s collection features vintage two-wheelers manufactured by almost all big and small companies in India. The oldest piece in Vineet’s collection is a 1930 military-use Bullet that was used in World War II by the British army.
Like all collectors, Vineet is driven by a passion for adding the rarest and most iconic models of two-wheelers to his collection. He often buys old models from different vendors around the country to add to his already enviable hoard. Fascinated with his hobby and incredible collection, old scooters and motor-bikes are sometimes donated to him by strangers. And, not only does he collect and restore these vintage beauties but Vineet also spends close to Rupees 2.5 Lakh per month on their maintenance.
Watch all this and more on ‘OMG! Yeh Mera India’, Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 pm, only on HistoryTV18 and HistoryTV18 HD.
